Saturday Update – 13th January 2024

Vikings have started the season well for the Mens and Ladies with both our Ladies A, Mens A and Mens B teams sat atop their respective League tables after two matches.

The Ladies A team are yet to concede a goal this season and have comfortably dealt with Harlequins A and Castletown B with Kim Carney taking a commanding lead in the scorers table having racked up 5 goals already.

Our Ladies B team had a frenetic 4-4 draw to start the season against Ramsey A but notched their first win of the season against Bacchas B this weekend and they currently sit third in the league albeit only on goal difference.

The Ladies C team have found the going fairly tough so far, firstly drawing with a very youthful Castletown E team and possibly being a little unlucky not to capitalise on the chances they created and then a defeat against Harlequins B which was a very even affair until Harlequins drafted in support from their younger A team players which changed the game in their favour.

Mens A are currently one point clear at the top of the Mens Premier after a great 3-2 win over Bacchas A in their first match of the season and then a seemingly routine win over Harlequins A last weekend.

Not to be outdone by the A team, our B team also sit atop their league after starting the season strong with 10 goals scored and only one conceded in wins against Castletown B and Harlequins B respectively.

Our Mens C team are in the only C team in Division 1 so are likely to find the going tough this season, but they ground out a hard fought victory against Harlequins B in the first week of the season, but succumbed to a 3-0 defeat against Valkyrs B this weekend.

The U15 are currently playing every other weekend due to fixture scheduling at the moment, and in their only match this season they went down 7-0 to a very experience Harlequins side but are hoping to bounce back against Ramsey this upcoming weekend.
