Saturday Update – 19th October 2024
Week 7 of the Mixed hockey season with only our A team coming away with victory this week.
Vikings Mixed A (2 – 1) Valkyrs Mixed A
A great performance by Vikings, the score line doesn’t reflect the game at all.
Vikings A dominated for large portions of the game but finishing just needs to improve as a whole team.
But the A team came away with the win and a valuable 2 points.
Vikings A Player of the Match – TBC
Vikings Mixed B (3 – 6) Harlequins Mixed A
A tough day at the office for the B team as they couldn’t keep the momentum from a great result last week against Bacchas losing 6-3 to Harlequins A.
Josh Dougal and Alex Andrew grabbing a goal apiece along with Katie Errock but this week was just not their week and they hope to come back stronger next week.
Vikings B Player of the Match – Jess Birch
Vikings Mixed C (1 – 2) Castletown Southerners
A very close game played out between the C team and Southerners with the Castletown team trying to keep pace with Bacchas at the top of Division 1.
Unfortunately the C team were on the wrong end of a 2-1 result which still leaves them second from bottom in the table.
Vikings C Player of the Match – Josh Wanklyn
Vikings Mixed D (1 – 8) Ramsey Mixed A
The same result as last time the D team faced Ramsey’s best, and they found themselves 1-0 early on and struggled to cope with the speed of the Ramsey attacks throughout the match.
A better performance in the second half limited Ramsey’s chances, but the damage had already been done in the first half and Vikings fell to a heavy 8-1 defeat with Bruce Gimbert managing to grab a consolation goal for the D team.
Vikings D Player of the Match – Sam Burrows
Vikings Mixed E (1 – 1) Castletown Carrick
A tough match for the E team where things just didn’t quite click and they didn’t make the most of their chances in front of goal.
At times an end to end match with Vikings finishing with a draw which could easily have been a win.
Vikings E Player of the Match – Henry Stewart
Vikings Mixed U15 (0 – 4) Castletown Sharks U15
The U15 found it tough going against Sharks and didn’t manage to register any goals in this match but plenty of effort and endeavour on show again.
